"This was a scam to get me to replace an a/c unit that did t need it. The guys worked together to not give info (nobody knows anything except I have to h e someone else from sales call me) and to do the job wrong costing me multiple days taking off of work. They charged $1400 to replace a $200 fan which took about an hour, you do the labor charges calculation🙄. Not good. Then, tried to sell me a condenser for $5k or a whole new unit for $7k with the better hurry there only one left story. Which was not true because they had them the following week. Through another company I was able to replace the coil condenser with the same brand for under $1k. It makes me sick how people try to take advantage. I pre paid for all the services to come out and look at, electrical, plumbing and HVAC. This was a test to see if I wanted this service on my daughters, father n law and a second house for us. I did pay up front and didn’t argue the tip off charge of $1400 and was going to most likely pay for future work discovered by the service checks. I am glad I had the bad experience before I got in too deep and came out of pocket beyond reason. I have lost all trust in this company. I am writing this review out of courtesy for any management that may care and want to see the company become a stand up quality company in the future. Good luck."

"Abacus was prompt and found the source of the issue quickly. I received two quotes, one for just fixing the problem and a second for replacing the full length of pipe with PEX tubing. Both felt overpriced, but given the urgency of the issue (water main line burst), we were happy to have the work done right the first time. The contractor was incredibly polite and respectful as he walked me through what may have caused the issue and let me get pictures for future reference. I would use them again for an emergency but would get a second quote for a less urgent issue."

I later that day searched for the part - that took the gentleman 15 minutes to replace - and the part was found at several stores for $35. We felt completely ripped off!! Which was disappointing considering the prior service we had received had been decent!! We will never use them again."

"I purchased the seasonal check up for air/heating system. They came out initially when I had an issues which the technician fixed right away, $3000 later. When it was time for them to do the winter season check, they called to make an appt. I wasn’t available at the time, I called back left several messages and never received the winter check up. I’m sure they charge me soon for the summer check as well."

"We had a faucet changed in our kitchen with a separate sprayer. When I tried to spray the sprayer, the faucet was still on and I was told that there is a water saving feature in the faucet itself that prevents anymore water from coming out of the sprayer. Did not make sense to me because there was water coming out of both the faucet and sprayer. If the water sprayer was low and the faucet was completely off then that would make sense."

"technician repeatedly recommended that i replace all three a/c units when i only needed one of them serviced. he said i needed freon in the other two units and i agreed. then he said i should replace them and when i said i was not interested in those two right now he took that to mean i no longer wanted the other units charged with freon which i did not realize until i looked at the email. it made me wonder if they work on commission."

"The price is awfully high. The first thing that Jason called them out for was an issue with our toilet. We had some kind of leak and the carpet was getting wet. Everyone that I called out here said “you just need to try this and try this. Do not use the toilet for a week and then try not using the shower.” Nobody could tell me. I even called a leak specialist and they said that it is trial and error. I called Abacus and the guy came out here and worked all day. He had to take the toilet off and there was something with the flange. He worked and was here all day long. He even had to put concrete in where the flange was. He was here all day. He fixed it and about three days later the carpet was getting wet again. They came back out and spent another whole day doing the same thing. A few days later the carpet was wet again. Finally, I think it was one of their managers or their boss or something, came out here and he diagnosed it that the flange was too short. He fixed it and it has been fixed ever since. They just charged us for the first time. I must give them that, that was good. They kept coming back and they did get it fixed. I called them out just recently for my bathtub drain because it was slow. He was telling me, “I could do one of two things. I could use this snake in it and clean it out or I can sell you this blue enzyme stuff that is supposed to eat away at it.” He said that it does not eat hair. I told him I knew it was a hair clog because it was a shower. I told him that I had the blue enzyme before and asked if it was the same thing. He told me that they have a contract with the seller and I said that it was the same shaped bottle, the same color and it looked just like it. He said “well, if you did not use it correctly, it is not going to work.” I asked him the correct way to use it and he said “you have to put about 2 ounces in a cup and hold it really close to the faucet and put forceful water in there to activate the enzymes. Then you pour it in there and leave it for like 12 hours.” I told him that the other people did not tell me that and said to pour it in the drain and rinse it down 12 hours later. He said that it is not going to work if you do not use it right. He went ahead and did the snake and got a big wad of hair out. He said that the danger of doing that is because I have an older house and my pipes are always at risk. He sold me the blue stuff and told me to put it in once a month. After he left, a couple of days later, I was going to put some of the stuff in the drain. I read the directions and it said nothing like he told me. It just said to pour it into the drain and did not say anything about the forceful water or activating it. He kept telling me I did not do it right but it said nothing in the directions about what he told me. I am a widow and I do not have a lot of money so I cannot hire people that charge me a fortune. Since my husband passed away this house has been nothing but a money pit anyway so I am probably not being very fair."

"Usually, they have done well on follow up; however, with this case, they have not. I have had two people come out to look at problems and recommended things to the management. This is for warranty work. They haven't responded yet. In general, they stand before their work, but not this time. Usually, it takes 5-6 times to stand behind their work. Overall, I would give the company a 1-star rating. The technicians do try to follow up. The tune over is extremely high. They are all good technicians, and I have used them for five years now. With just the AC alone, they have come over 30 times. The completely installed a system, and they have followed up on that is 30 times now. The technicians leave the company quickly. I have had 6-7 technicians that are confident and good. I would request them for the next visit, and they no longer work there. That means the company isn't doing something right. Their sales tactic is to push sales when not needed. Sell something is the goal of the company. The company stands behind the warranty typically, and this only time they have failed. They don't have the confident people to make sure it is done. I would tell people to steer away from them."
