The two different subcontractors that MasterDecks brought in for demolition of the old deck and for some concrete finishing work were highly skilled, very efficient, and experts in their professions. I would definitely recommend them for these specialized areas. I was also impressed that MasterDecks has a specialized team that focuses just on permitting, thus helping to streamline that often time-consuming process. This was one of the advantages over some of the other contractors I considered. I found the Buildertrend online project management tool was extremely helpful for tracking progress and status of the work as well as the financials and other aspects of the project. Unfortunately, there were significant schedule delays following completion of the main deck build, waiting for availability of the railing team and then the undercover team. These delays were primarily due to issues on other projects unrelated to this one, which impacted resources needed for this project and resulted in an overall project timeline about 2 months longer than expected. Most of that time was waiting for a few relatively short duration tasks to be completed. The project was more expensive than originally anticipated when getting the bids, however the old adage \"you get what you pay for\" rings true and I am very pleased with the final product. The new deck is gorgeous and the undercover system will be great when the fall and winter storms come! just had PCF Construction \u002F Master Decks replace our 23 year old, second floor wrap-around deck which had been rendered unsafe. The old one had to be completely demolished, right down to the cement \"feet\". It was a month long project due to its size and components. The result, is a beautiful piece of art. The construction team consisted of Heath, Kyle and David. All 3 did an amazing job. They worked hard each day. I was impressed with their work ethics. It was obvious they were very experienced and knowledgeable in their craft. At the end of each day, they left the site in a clean and orderly state. They were friendly and always polite and never hesitated to answer any questions I had. I was always kept informed of their schedules and they kept by them. I never had to guess who would show up or when. We also had a custom gate installed at one end of the deck for our dogs. Kyle did an excellent job with the design and finished product. Impressive! I should also mention our initial consult with Nick Fagerness was also very good. He was very thorough in showing us designs and explaining everything from start to finish along with being completely transparent with the pricing. He left no stone unturned. The end result is absolutely beautiful. I am extremely happy with the new deck and the workmanship. I've had a couple friends, who are in the building business tell me that the work done is high quality. The site was completely cleaned up within a couple days. No left over piles of lumber, trash or other supplies. Everyone who has been to our home has complimented on the beauty and construction of the new deck.
