"We absolutely love Outback Deck!"

"We received three strong recommendations by friends who had used Outback for their decks which influenced our decision to have them do the project. With the estimates given by other companies even though Outback's was the most expensive, we liked the idea of their experience level especially with dealing with Cherokee County. Our project included a stair case from the main level to the downstairs and replacing spindles across our covered porch. We received drawings of what the completed project was to be. However, they were only half accurate. The stairs ended up being exactly what we envisioned. The porch was a nightmare. The sections between the columns was mismeasured and too short for the space. Jose had to place blocks at the top and bottom to connect them to the columns. I made a horrible mistake. When I was asked about the first section installation, it seemed to be okay so they proceeded. It was not measured. I only gave it a visual inspection. By the time I realized there was over a five inch gap between the column and the last spindle for each section, I knew it would never pass code. And the stress began. At that point, a retro fit had to be created. Shawn built a wrap box around each column to decrease the gap. It did pass code by the Cherokee inspector. This project has been a horribly stressful experience. Not only did the company not respond on the financial side, but it was the company not backing up their mistake. What reputable company does not honor their word? #1 This mismeasurement was not our fault. I talked with our sales rep and the site manager to no avail. The only way we could have the porch completed was to pay another $2,425.00 for materials and labor. #2 That was not the end of it because we needed to have the columns with the new boxes caulked and painted to make it look like a completed project. The crew also repaired some damages to the porch from the staircase removal. Add another $1,200 for that part. #3 Our original cost with labor and materials was $27,889. The additional work brought our total cost to $31,514. I do want to say that Kris the site manager and Shawn did have a lot of patience working with us in regard to the correction, but not with the costs. Where is the "We stand by our work?""

"My experience was nothing compared to what was sold to me. The communication was very poor. They delayed my project several times. They started my project a month and a half late. I think they had too many other projects at one time. They told me once they start a project they go all the way to the end. They built a month after the contract was signed. They were missing materials and were not doing what the contract said. I had to really get involved, which is not what I paid for. I paid for someone to take care of everything. I decided to go with them because they were a big company, had done a lot of projects in my area, and also had good reviews. The workmanship was not up to the quality standards I was promised."

"The initial process of getting the quote and work order put together was a wonderful process. However, once the project started, it was apparent that the company was not prepared to handle the project they quoted us for. They were unable to accurately determine what processes were going to be needed before starting the job, causing us to have to go back and forth with the owners of the company to finish the job due to added expense, which was unnecessary."

"I had high expectations for this project based on the work I saw on their website and my initial meetings with my solutions specialist. The project had numerous hurdles because of the amount of rain we received during the time. As a result, I feel the project was rushed and quality of craftsmanship suffered. I am particularly unhappy with how the screens turned out. They do not fit properly and as a result have gotten bent in corners and jammed in so some parts stick out more than others in places. Hopefully these issues and some others will be fix in warranty. No one walked around with me to do a final inspection prior to closing out the final payment and going to warranty. I'm partly to blame for this as I wanted the final payment to go on the financing they helped setup but due to the project taking longer the purchase date deadline had ended before the work was done. The PM was somewhat communicative during the process. A lot of the times he would tell me what work was going to be done that day after the crew had already done most of it. There was also a change I wanted done and was willing to pay more before the project started and materials were ever delivered I was told to wait until later to discuss it and now that seems it will never get done. All in all I doubt my project will be one they will post as an example on their website."
