"Our chimney needed a rebuild of the top, a new crown, work on the shoulders, and several other locations to be tuckpointed (i.e. for the mortar between the bricks to be ground out and new one inserted). Matt and his partner who came to give us the estimate were pleasant to work with and were professional. The crew who did the work itself was good too, however, they missed several spots that needed to be tuckpointed and didn’t insert enough mortar on one shoulder so it looks unfinished. We understand that it happens, it’s fine. However, we called the company to see if it can be fixed. Matt and his partner came out to take a look and said that the missed spots aren’t structural issues, just cosmetic, but that he’d check with his boss if someone could be sent out to fix it. His boss apparently declined. We’ve had other work done around our house and if someone missed something they always have come back out to fix it, so it is disappointing that that wasn’t the case with High’s chimney. Yes, they did the work. Yes, the did an OK job, but no it wasn’t perfect/to our 100% satisfaction and were surprised that the boss didn’t care enough to have the issues fixed to satisfy their customers."

At the other home, they took out the old chimney flues and put new chimney flues in. I liked the great service, decent prices—competitive pricing—and their availability. When we needed the work done, they were able to come in, get it done and get out. I would grade the overall experience with an A+. We've already recommended High's Chimney Service to friends."

"High's Chimney Service was great. I liked the fact that they did not cost much more the second year when I said, 'Hey, I remember when you guys were offering this for a certain amount of money. And I know that it's been a year since you've offered that.' And they still had a pretty good deal. And they also were incredibly clean. They took the whole chimney apart, but my living room was totally clean, so that was great. I would grade the overall experience with an A. Quality of work—the house hasn't burned down yet, and I've been running fires in the fireplace which I couldn't do before they relined it and did everything. Customer service—they were really prompt. They were good on the phone, and came when they said they would. And I got an appointment pretty soon, which was what I wanted. This was a while ago. It's been like a year or something. They are very nice guys."

They cleaned the chimney on the inside, and then they did some repairs to the chimney up on the roof—the flashing. They fixed the flashing around the chimney. It was positive because they explained what they would do; they did what they explained; the price was good, and they also gave me tips on—this is my first chimney or active fireplace—and they gave me all the tips. "It was a long time ago—about a year-and-a-half ago. High's Chimney Service installed a stove and a chimney liner. I liked that they were fairly prompt to price the job, and come out and do exactly what I wanted. Nothing noteworthy. I was very concerned. I believe that this chimney gave me problems. I think it smoked and something happened to the liner about six times. And they had to return about six times to fix the problem. I was somewhat concerned when I called up about it. They told me to open the damper and let the thing burn out, and they would get back to me in about a week. So, it wasn't a good experience. I would grade the overall experience with a C. The quality of work was good, but the experience wasn't very good. I was very concerned. It seems to me that my house would have burned down, had I not been there when the flames came through the chimney. I would be very hesitant to recommend them because of their lackadaisical attitude and the lack of concern for my property."
