I hired Service Professionals to reroute a collapsed 3–4" residential sewer line. I want to be fair and separate the actual sewer repair from my concerns with the excavation, backfill, and restoration. The sewer pipe installation itself appeared to be done well, and I have no complaint with that portion of the work. My disappointment is with how my property was left afterward. I fully understood beforehand that their warranty does not cover landscaping or future settlement. I did not expect them to replace or restore my grass. However, I also did not expect the completed excavation area to be left as an uneven mound of dirt. When I questioned this, I was told the mound was intentionally left that way to compensate for future “settling.” That explanation is particularly concerning because I observed the backfilling operation. The excavated material was not placed and mechanically compacted in controlled lifts as I would normally expect with utility-trench work. The primary method of consolidation I observed was using the excavator bucket during backfilling. Leaving excess material mounded above the surrounding grade to account for anticipated settlement is not what I consider an acceptable substitute for controlled backfill placement, compaction, and reasonable finish grading. Prior to excavation, I personally raked back the decorative stone in my landscaped flower bed because I understood they would need access to excavate near that area. The stone had only been installed approximately two weeks earlier, and I intentionally moved it out of what I understood would be the excavation limits. Despite that preparation, the excavation and disturbance extended considerably beyond the approximately 4-foot-wide area I expected. Excavated material was spread and tracked across a much larger portion of the lawn and into areas of the landscape bed that I had attempted to protect. This significantly increased the amount of restoration now required on my end. I work in civil construction and am familiar with underground utility installation, excavation, backfill, compaction, and restoration. I understand that excavation is disruptive. I understand that grass will be damaged. And I understand that some settlement can occur even when backfill is properly placed and compacted. Those are not my complaints. My concern is the quality of the backfill, grading, cleanup, and overall condition in which the property was left when the crew finished. There is a significant difference between “landscaping is not included” and leaving a customer with an unnecessarily large disturbed area and an uneven mound of excavated material as the finished product. I spoke directly with the manager about my concerns and gave the company an opportunity to address them. Unfortunately, he seemed satisfied with the quality of the restoration as it was left. I am not. Again, I want to give credit where it is due: I am satisfied with the sewer pipe installation itself. But from my perspective, the job does not end when the pipe is connected and the trench is filled. For the amount of money spent, I expected considerably better excavation control, backfill practices, finish grading, and cleanup. If you are considering Service Professionals for underground sewer work, I strongly recommend discussing in writing exactly what their excavation, backfill, compaction, final grading, and cleanup responsibilities will be before work begins. Their exclusion for landscaping and settlement can leave the homeowner responsible for considerably more restoration than simply replacing some grass.

The job included the replacement of the upper tank on the water heater and the valve control for the the pressure. The service personnel was very knowledgeable of the water heater and the different parts and attachments. He took the time to explain how the parts work together and what causes the buildup of pressure.

We had Joe replace our old water heater, and the whole experience was 5-star. He explained our options clearly, gave us a fair price, and completed the work with great care. Joe arrived right on time, protected our floors, and performed an immaculately clean, professional installation. He even left the basement cleaner than it was before. Highly recommend!

Juan was absolutely incredible! With our newborn arriving soon and the cold months approaching, we were becoming increasingly stressed about getting our furnace fixed. We are beyond grateful for his knowledge, professionalism, and efficiency. He truly saved the day and gave us such peace of mind knowing our home will be warm and ready for our newborn. If you need someone who is knowledgeable, reliable, and genuinely knows what they’re doing, ask for Juan! We cannot recommend him highly enough. Thank you, Juan!!!
